Our Story
SmartWeddingPlans was born from a simple observation—and a lot of personal experience.
For over 30 years, our founder worked behind the camera as a wedding photographer and videographer, documenting hundreds of weddings across the Greater Toronto Area. She saw the joy, the tears, the first dances, and the heartfelt speeches. She also saw something else: couples struggling to find affordable vendors they could trust.
She watched friends, colleagues, and clients pour hours into scrolling through endless directories, chasing leads that went nowhere, and feeling overwhelmed by the sheer cost of it all. Meanwhile, talented wedding professionals—photographers, florists, DJs, planners—were spending thousands on advertising just to be seen.
There had to be a better way.
So she built one.

With over 30 years of experience as a wedding photographer and videographer, she has documented love stories in churches, banquet halls, backyards, and city lofts across the GTA. She's seen trends come and go, witnessed the evolution of the industry, and—most importantly—listened to hundreds of couples share their hopes, their budgets, and their worries.
"After three decades behind the camera, I realized something: the couples who enjoyed their planning process the most were the ones who felt informed and supported. They weren't necessarily the ones with the biggest budgets—they were the ones who knew where to look and who to trust. That's the feeling I want every couple to have."
